Bipartisan Policy Center and HousingWire announce media partnership

Join forces for upcoming Housing America’s Future: 2014 Housing Summit

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) and HousingWire announced that the two organizations are joining forces to promote and cover the BPC Housing Commission’s upcoming Housing America’s Future: 2014 Housing Summit.

The two-day event, scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2014, and Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington, D.C., will highlight the critical role that housing plays in strengthening our national economy. The Summit will help elevate housing to the top of the national agenda and will bring together private-sector experts, elected officials, academics, and housing practitioners from across the country.

“This is a critical time for housing policy in the United States, and it’s more important than ever that both sides of the aisle come together to discuss challenges and find solutions,” said Pamela Patenaude, BPC’s Director of Housing Policy. “Members of the BPC Housing Commission are committed to leading the way, and we’re honored to have HousingWire’s support for this important initiative.”

While the event will be open to all members of the press, HousingWire has agreed to serve as the exclusive trade media promotional partner for the event. HousingWire’s media personalities will moderate some of the discussions taking place during the event.

Co-chaired by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, former Senators Christopher “Kit” Bond and Mel Martinez, and former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, the BPC Housing Commission consists of 21 members who bring to the table a diverse range of viewpoints, professional experiences, and expertise in housing and related fields. Members of the Commission are business leaders, former public officials, real estate developers and builders, academics, and housing advocates.

"We’re honored to have HousingWire play a role in shaping the mortgage markets of today and tomorrow," said Paul Jackson, chief executive officer of HousingWire. "The Bipartisan Policy Center and HousingWire share a deep belief in the importance of working together to build a sustainable set of housing policy objectives, and we’re looking forward to putting our media brand to work to support this common goal.”
