Shapiro & Ingle appoints Kimberly A. Sheek to lead new department

Will oversee representation of creditors in bankruptcy litigation

Shapiro & Ingle, LLP has appointed Kimberly A. Sheek as the senior bankruptcy attorney for the firm’s new bankruptcy litigation department.

Sheek has over eight years of experience in representing mortgage servicers in Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 bankruptcy cases and was named one of North Carolina’s Super Lawyers – Rising Stars in 2013.

“It was only natural that Ms. Sheek would head the Bankruptcy Litigation Department given her professional dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Grady Ingle, managing partner of Shapiro & Ingle.

The new department will provide services to creditors such as:

·      Representing creditors in adversary proceedings, motions for sanction and other bankruptcy litigation;

·      Responding to emergency situations;

·      Identifying potential bankruptcy litigation exposure and providing practical solutions;

·      Providing general compliance advice related to bankruptcy, federal laws, regulations and state laws.

“To decrease litigation risk, it is clear that creditors must ensure that they are represented by knowledgeable attorneys who understand the numerous challenges they face on a daily basis. Ms. Sheek has always met that challenge head-on in an environment that continues to evolve,” said Ingle.
