In 2015, Sierra Pacific Mortgage created a multiyear road map to modernize the company and integrate emerging technologies that will enhance the consumer experience and improve the efficiencies of obtaining a home loan.

“Our most important initiative is around technology and enhancing the customer experience,” said Chuck Iverson, executive vice president of Sierra Pacific Mortgage. “That’s what we’re focused on.”

As part of that road map, Sierra Pacific is launching a new version of ExpressLoan, its premier online mortgage-banking platform for originators.  This state-of-the-art platform offers ease of use and a full-service suite for originators and processors.

In the first quarter of 2017 Sierra Pacific will also be launching the first consumer direct technologies for its origination teams and the thousands of homebuyers that the company services every month.

“Our new retail lending platform for consumers and originators will have a lot of enhancements that you would expect out of a consumer-direct platform,” Iverson said. “We think it’s very important to support our originators and our customers that way.”

As it continues to evolve this technology in 2017, Sierra Pacific will release new aspects of consumer-direct lending technology for use with its retail division and internal sales teams.

“For 2017, we’re really excited about a lot of back-end automation that we’ll be rolling out, including the latest version of Express Loan TPO,” Iverson said.

In the interim, Sierra Pacific will be releasing enhancements to ExpressLoan TPO that are designed to improve the profitability of the emerging banker. This new release of its proprietary pricing engine will include the ability to build in margin for its customers and still provide custom access to their originators.

While technology is a necessity and a focus, Iverson noted that mortgage lending is still a people business.

“Perhaps the most exciting goal we are working on is our quality service initiative designed to set quality standards and empower our teams to provide amazing experiences for customers across all of our platforms,” Iverson said.

“As a leading mortgage company in the industry, Sierra Pacific is committed to innovating and creating the best possible experience for our origination team in all channels, and for the customers that we all jointly serve. It is our profound honor to serve the people in this country that wish to buy homes to better their lives and the lives of their families.”
