AppraiserLoft Founder Steps Down

National appraisal management company AppraiserLoft announced Tuesday that its former CEO, Aman Makkar has stepped down. Shane Copeland, the San Diego-based AMC’s senior vice president of national sales will take on an interim leadership role following Makkar’s departure from the position.

Makkar, who founded and has led AppraiserLoft since its inception in 2007, will pursue an endeavor in mobile media technology that is unrelated to AppraiserLoft’s core businesses. He will continue to remain involved in the company while he pursues projects outside of the industry, he told RMD.

“As the founder and CEO, Aman Makkar has been the driving force and leader for AppraiserLoft and we thank him for his vision and extreme dedication,” Copeland said in a statement from the company. “It is a small circle of people who can take a company from concept to market leadership and innovation like Aman has accomplished. He has also united an outstanding management team to continue the company’s successful growth over the coming years.”

Copeland has led sales and business development at AppraiserLoft and has been with the company since 2008. He has nearly 20 years of mortgage and real estate experience and will maintain a focus on growing AppraiserLoft’s presence as an AMC and alternative valuation service.
