First Houston Changes Its Name to Envoy Mortgage

First Houston Mortgage, a mortgage-banking firm licensed in 20 states that offers expertise in every aspect of the residential mortgage lending process, said last week that it had changed its corporate name to Envoy Mortgage.

As part of the company’s effort to rebrand itself from a regional company to a national lending organization, First Houston Mortgage’s leadership felt a name change would more appropriately reflect this corporate expansion.
“After 11 years in the mortgage business, First Houston had met all its goals within our local market and had been opening offices throughout the country,” said David Zugheri, co-founder of Envoy Mortgage. “Our new corporate identity better reflects our expanded mission to grow a nationwide footprint.”
Within the previous six months, Envoy Mortgage has added 22 offices and attained licensing in eight additional states. Envoy currently has 34 offices in nine states. By the end of 2009, Envoy seeks to conduct business in 30 states.
