Opendoor partners with two additional homebuilders

Companies added as part of Opendoor Builder Trade In Program

From launching Opendoor Home Loans earlier this fall to acquiring a title and escrow company not long after, it seems that Opendoor is not-so-slowly working its way to becoming a one-stop-shop.

The trend continues as the iBuyer announced this week that it is adding two more homebuilders to its builder trade-in program. The program started two years ago in Las Vegas and opened to all of Opendoor’s markets soon after.

“We’ve been proud to partner with 19 of the top 25 home builders,” the company said in its latest announcement. “Lennar, Pulte, Taylor Morrison and other builders share our vision of providing more convenience and certainty for home buyers and sellers. And these partnerships have already delivered over $1.5 billion in total annualized sales for the top 25 home builders in the U.S.”

According to Opendoor, the program frees buyers to line up the sale of an existing home with the purchase of a new home built by homebuilder partners in the program.

Opendoor piloted the program with homebuilder Lennar. Now, Century Communities and Gehan Homes are joining Opendoor’s list of homebuilders in its trade-in program.

“A top-10 U.S. homebuilder, Century Communities is engaged in all aspects of the home building process under its Century Communities and Wade Jurney Homes brands. The company features versatile home designs and desirable locations across 17 states,” Opendoor stated in its announcement.

“Gehan Homes, an award-winning builder with new construction homes in Texas and Arizona, has also joined our program,” Opendoor continued. “They’ve been named Volume Builder of the Year by the Texas Association of Builders at the annual Star Awards, which recognizes excellence in the home building industry.”
