Here’s a small preview of today’s interview. The transcript below has been lightly edited for length and clarity:
Clayton Collins: Last week I was on the podcast and we were talking about taking national headlines and bringing it down to a local level to like help educate local homebuyers or, or financers. I think there’s like a lot of confusion and misinformation that happens when people just consume like national real estate data and don’t know what’s happening in their market. What have you learned about talking about the local market and tying it to the headlines that someone might be getting on a national level?
Anthony Lamacchia: We are very fortunate to be in a business that everyone wants to hear about. People say to me, how the hell have you done over 250 live news segments? Well, when you put out content, it attracts people. When you educate, you attract. By 2013, I was doing videos on month housing data. When you do that and you’re constantly putting out information, eventually the news calls. I’d also go on Instagram and I’d give tips to realtors.
I didn’t intend comment on any of these crazy legal cases, but then last October, the plaintiff’s attorney got on my nerves, so I started doing videos, and then everybody was tuning in. I’m hearing from people all over the country. I knew I hit a vein. I knew that I filled the vacuum of the lack of information that was out there. It’s really just courage to speak out and willingness to sometimes screw up or say the wrong thing. And so what? When you educate, you attract.
