Berkshire Hathaway

Berkshire Hathaway is a multinational conglomerate holding company. Its primary business interest is in the insurance space, but is arguably best known for using its gains in that business to fuel investments in a variety of subsidiaries, equity positions and other securities as directed by investor Warren Buffett.

Founded first in 1839 as a textile manufacturing company and then in 1970 as holding company, Berkshire Hathaway is based in Omaha, Nebraska.
