Clifford Rossi, a former bank executive and now Executive-in-Residence and Professor at the University of Maryland, writes: While well-intended, these legislative proposals, if enacted, would severely reduce the availability of credit to consumers in general. A credit reporting moratorium would disproportionately harm low-income and minority consumers with marginal credit already struggling to maintain access to credit due to market responses to this legislation.
