Ashleigh Sweet, VP of Servicing Strategy at Mr. Cooper, has over 23 years of mortgage servicing experience and currently oversees 75 people across six different business units. She is a jack of all trades with responsibilities including managing audit responses for internal, investor, state and regulatory bodies, compliance testing, technology enhancement and update testing, and investor initiatives. Her tenacity and ability to effectively manage various functions at Mr. Cooper has earned her the unofficial title of problem-solver and the go-to for her direct reports and leaders.
Sweet always strives to challenge convention. She looks for ways to enhance the business by regularly providing feedback on current processes and asking questions that lead to improvements across the company, such as the implementation of technological enhancements to the core servicing system to streamline business workflows. She conducts bi-annual listening sessions and surveys for each of her teams, separate from Mr. Cooper’s annual companywide review, to gather feedback and input on what is going well and what needs additional support.
Sweet aims to be her team’s number one cheerleader and always seeks out new, creative ways to recognize her team’s accomplishments. She leads with compassion, carving out time to get to know everyone she works with. Because remote work can make it hard for employees to turn off, she encourages team members to turn off email notifications after working hours and during PTO. She has become a shepherd for team members, guiding them to understand that better mental health and work-life balance lead to better work.
