Candice Jones is responsible for Fannie Mae’s strategic technology infrastructure modernization and enablement and focused initiatives. As the leader of key technology teams, including Cloud Migration, Data Center Exit, and Analytic Change Enabled Program Execution, and Infrastructure Contract Governance, Jones provides the expertise and guidance to help Fannie Mae make informed decisions, optimize technology investments, and drive innovation, leading to enhanced operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
Jones progressed from a manager to a vice president within eight short years within the company’s technology organization. The past three years were the most significant in her career growth, which also presented the most demands in developing and sustaining a strong team along with influencing and creating an impact during the pandemic. Jones is a passionate mentor, mentoring approximately five colleagues each year, focusing on those in early career stages and who feel they have experienced a broken rung. She has an open-door policy, welcoming anyone who wants to connect for an open conversation. She is actively involved in Employee Resource Groups (ERG), including the Woman Employee Resource Group, African Ancestry Business Leaders for Excellence, and the technology division’s Women in Technology and Blacks in Tech cohorts.
Her leadership style is one of treating everyone equally. Jones is a fearless leader known for her authenticity, integrity, transparency, and empathy. She is not afraid to challenge even the “smartest” person in the room for the greater good in order to give a new perspective. She continues to coach those around her on not allowing others to set limitations.
