Yu has led the technology and engineering teams at Houseful to quickly innovate across multiple areas that will allow Houseful to better serve Canadian homebuyers, including launching a native app, building a new AI-based system that improves consumer support, and connecting homebuyers who need a mortgage with expert help.
Yu has led an incredible year of innovation for Houseful, helping further the company’s mission to power confident decisions throughout the homeowning journey. Yu leaned into the company’s strategy of being an AI company to build a proprietary large language model that improves the company’s internal operations and customer service.
The technology draws actionable signals from consumer interactions that are tied to key business metrics, allowing Houseful to learn about its users at warp speed and identify how they are progressing in their journey. Yu’s work enabled Houseful to take action based on real consumers’ needs at scale, very quickly, while removing human bias. The project has unlocked highly predictive models for a long consumer journey, enhancing Houseful’s ability to quickly test better ways to serve homebuyers and continually enhance the consumer experience. This large language model technology is the first of its kind in the entire RBC enterprise. It was a herculean effort to launch the first AI-backed product in a 160-year-old organization.
