As president and chief executive officer of Anywhere Franchise Brands, she oversees the strategic growth and operations for the affiliate networks of Coldwell Banker, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, CENTURY 21, and ERA Real Estate, a franchise network that encompasses over 17,000 offices across 27 countries. She is constantly expanding and evolving her role to help reshape the real estate industry to better meet customers wherever they are in their journey to homeownership.
Gehringer brings extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the company’s expansive network of brokerage franchises and affiliated agents. She has a diverse background in ethics and compliance, law, franchise operations, sales and marketing. She draws on these skills to enhance the importance of branding, bringing a deeper connection to consumers and providing value for entrepreneurs. This experience helped her as she served in various leadership roles at the enterprise over the last two decades. Gehringer maintains a holistic view of the company, enabling her to spearhead many initiatives — including a corporate ethics program — that challenge the norms, identify gaps, and pursue solutions to move real estate to what’s next.
This past year, she has championed for homeownership equality and growth for Hispanic, Black and Asian Americans, as well as members of the LGBTQAI+ communities, working closely with organizations like NAHREP, NAREP, AREAA and The Alliance. She also worked closely with teams from The Alliance, WomanUp, NAHREP and AREAA to advocate for the Stop Hate in Real Estate pledge — another testament to her acumen for bringing people together to enforce positive change.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Know what requires ‘A’ work versus where ‘B+’ work will do. I had to learn to meter my efforts, and preserve focus for the places that need it most.
