Michael McFadden has revolutionized the post-closing/warehouse lending process for mortgage originators. He has modernized an ineffective, archaic process to help originators better manage their warehouse relationships, save millions of dollars, and digitize funding through loan sale.
McFadden’s vision is to connect the primary and secondary markets through technology innovation. Not only has he developed the first warehouse management system for mortgage originators, last year he announced a modern-day platform for warehouse lenders. McFadden’s ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between mortgage originators, warehouse banks, doc custodians, and investors to create a cost effective and streamlined process for all.
McFadden spent many years as a mortgage banker and CFO for a large IMB. He theorized a better way to process and fund mortgage loans, spent years working with other mortgage professionals and software engineers, and developed and founded OptiFunder — the first-of-its-kind platform to optimize funding decisions and automate funding through loan sale. In just five years, OptiFunder has grown from three employees to 30, most from the mortgage industry. In 2023, OptiFunder was awarded a top 100 spot on Inc 5000’s fastest growing companies, with a three-year revenue growth of 4767%.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My baseball coach in high school told me, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” This resonated deeply with me throughout my baseball career. It wasn’t just about putting in the effort individually, but also about inspiring my teammates to push their limits.
