Lea Laman is a founding leader of Common Securitization Solutions (CSS), having joined the company during its inception in 2016 after spending the earlier years of her career at Fannie Mae. Laman has held leadership positions critical for the launches of both the Common Securitization Platform (CSP) and the Unified Mortgage-backed Securities (UMBS) program. Laman’s influence and leadership ensure CSS’s vital role in issuing and administering Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s (the GSEs) single-family MBS products that help create profound liquidity for the primary and secondary mortgage markets enabling Americans across the country to buy homes and refinance existing mortgages to enjoy a better quality of life.

As Senior Vice President of business operations, Laman leads the client services and operations departments, as well as the product management. Shortly after her promotion to SVP in 2022, Laman was appointed to the CSS Executive Committee in the Spring of 2023 following her undertaking of an expanded role at the start of the pandemic — navigating challenges as the company went virtual while experiencing record volumes due to the housing market activity peaks. She did so while also improving service levels year over year since the start of her tenure.

Under Laman, the performance of the CSS business has met and exceeded every business requirement and expectation of the GSEs ensuring robust resiliency and consistency to support their MBS products. She oversaw the development and implementation of multiple new products in support of the GSE’s mission and built a robust and engaged communication channel with her GSE counterparts. Through Q1 2024 Laman and her team delivered flawless service level performance.
